Fred Lewis was the lead in the AP game story about the Giants’ 5-4 win over the Diamondbacks last night. Pinch-hitting with the bases loaded and one out in the eighth, Lewis hit a ground ball to second base that well could have been an inning-ending double play. He beat out the relay throw to first, however, which allowed the go-ahead run to score. The Giants’ bullpen held onto the lead over the last six outs, moving the team to four games behind the wild-card leading Rockies with 12 games to play.

I might also like to convey that most individuals that find themselves without the need of health insurance are typically students, self-employed and those that are jobless. More than half on the uninsured are really under the age of Thirty five. They do not feel they are requiring health insurance simply because they’re young in addition to healthy. Its income is often spent on property, food, along with entertainment. Some people that do go to work either full or part-time are not supplied insurance by way of their jobs so they get along without due to rising price of health insurance in america. Thanks for the suggestions you write about through this blog.

Hi. Fortunately there is a precedent and a model for your situation with the LA Times– the fight of independent freelance still photographers over the last ten years for retention of copyright. There are plenty of resources out there detailing your rights as a videographer, but a good place to start would be the source, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c105:H.R.2281.ENR:
You are the creator of the movie or video. You retain the rights to it and are only granting a one-time license to the LA Times to use it on their web site. If they syndicate it, if they pass it on to You Tube, if they use it in any other way, you are entitled to compensation. And more importantly, they can only do any or all of those things with your permission.
I know things are in flux as far as copyright interpretation now, but please don’t surrender your rights to your work.
It also strikes me as strange that the LA Times pleads ignorance when it comes to video usage and rights. This is the first time a freelancer has come to them with available footage? I don’t think so.
My experience is as a still photographer and it has not been easy or pretty the last ten years with regards to convincing big media that I retain the copyright to my work. The fact that I register everything I shoot with the LIbrary of Congress does help, but there are violations.

You know, I completely disagree. Yes, she was controversial, but I’ve seen the ratings and there’s no way that show was making money. Unlike other niche programs, like Imagen, her audience was not interesting for advertisers. Not because of AMLO (Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador) , just because they weren’t good target consumers. Her credibility fell insofar as the Left that she championed kept saying really stupid things.
