But I agree that you were definitely right to hand the camera over, not worth being brave because you can never predict how these people will react. I had a similar thing happen in Milawi, but was luckily rescued by locals who saw what was happening. Ulises sounds like a star! I'm glad he's looking after you. Don't resort to buying a gun.
