Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse in Mexico…
….then Mexico gets hit by a 6.0 earthquake! As if grappling with an apparently deadly swine flu weren’t enough.
There I was, sitting at my desk, thinking I was safe from the deadly swine flu currently sweeping the nation, and possibly the world, when I come over all dizzy. Then I realise it’s not my head that’s shaking but the world around me! It was the first earthquake I’ve ever been in so I was taken off guard.
The earlier tweets say that there are no casualties yet – from the earthquake at least.
Meanwhile, the death toll for the outbreak of swine flu continues to climb. It now stands at 149 deaths, with nearly 2,000 more suspected cases. Schools have been shut across the country now, not just in Mexico City and the surrounding states.
Stay tuned.

You could change your headline now as things are getting better. I think the 2000 suspected cases number has been greatly lowered. As for perspective, 36,000 people died in the USA last year of plain old everyday influenza (that’s like 98 people a day!!)and we don’t see anyone there wearing maska all the time.
